The redesign of the Fish Tank focuses on sustainable practices while promoting community engagement. The project was designed with the three aspects of sustainability in mind; environmental, financial, and social sustainability. The site encourages integration and gathering between various community members, workers, and nature. The project showcases the potential of sustainable design to benefit both people and the environment.

About the Area
The Meatpacking District in Copenhagen holds a rich historical legacy as it was the thriving center of the city's meat industry businesses from 1878 to 1934. This significant area, encompassing the Brown, White, and Grey Meatpacking Districts, has been designated as one of the 25 national industrial monuments, ensuring its protection and preservation. Even today, the district remains dedicated to its original purpose, providing a home for various meat industry enterprises. However, it also aspires to transform into a dynamic and diverse mixed-use zone, actively encouraging the establishment of cultural, design, and gastronomy businesses. As a result, it has become a trendy and sought-after location, offering a vibrant blend of bars, clubs, schools, markets, theatres, galleries, and restaurants, making it a favorite destination for locals and visitors alike.
About the Site
The Fish Tank currently houses three programs; a restaurant, an office, and a pavilion.
The Social Hub, a total of 15 companies specializing in social services for the city operate, collectively work towards addressing various societal needs.
The Red Box, an outdoor pavilion that functions as a dedicated space for serving school lunches to children in need. This initiative ensures that underprivileged students receive essential nourishment, supporting their overall development.
The Set, located on the building's second floor, serves as a bustling restaurant where all Fish Tank employees come together for communal lunches. This shared dining experience not only fosters a sense of unity and camaraderie among the team but also creates a platform for open conversations and idea-sharing.
Through the integration of these three distinctive programs, the Fish Tank building serves as a dynamic Social Hub, driving positive change and contributing to the betterment of the community.
